This week I have gone on two small hikes, much to my delight.

On Tuesday Nina and I went to Corona Del Mar and walked along the tide pools. The water was unseasonably warm, and there were fewer anemones and sea urchins than in past walks I've been on, but there were plenty of hermit crab fights to be seen.

This morning my parents decided to walk this trail that my father had often hiked during his time at the University of LaVerne. He used to hike to a swimming hole under a waterfall. We didn't have much hope of finding the same amount of water, but it was pretty.

Yet we were surprised. The trail was cut off by a stream.

My dad wanted to go across, but my mom refused on the grounds that she was the only one wearing full-length pants. Which means we will have to return more prepared for river fording at a later date.
